Students at Cristo Rey Fort Worth College Prep recently learned where they will work and learn during the 2026-27 school year. The announcements were made at an event called Draft Day, held at Casa Mañana Theatre. One student, Angel Arvizu, a sophomore, was anxious as he waited to hear his assignment.

As the names were called, Angel's possibilities narrowed, and he grew increasingly stressed. He was one of the last students to be assigned to a workplace. Further details about the event and the students' assignments are available.

The students will work at various organizations, including healthcare companies, and will have the opportunity to learn new skills. Angel's assignment was to a Fort Worth-area organization, where he will report weekly.
