A school district's spending on contracted special education services has increased significantly. The total contract cost is now $3,210,532, with an additional $2.51 million approved for speech-language pathologists and other service providers. This amount is more than three times the initial planned total.
The increase is intended to fill service gaps left by dozens of vacancies, with 58 special education-related positions currently unfilled.
