Some businesses in Arlington saw a significant boost in sales during the World Cup. J. Gilligan's Bar & Grill, for example, recorded about four times its normal sales.

Grease Monkey Burger Shop also reported an increase, with sales rising by 25 to 30 percent. However, not all businesses in the area benefited from the tournament. Those in the Urban Union district that did not cater to sports fans saw typical or even lower traffic, as residents avoided the area due to concerns about congestion.

The impact of the World Cup on Tarrant County will be further discussed at a panel on August 6, hosted by the Fort Worth Report.
